On November 1, seven candidates met in a forum at Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch. The forum was sponsored in part by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. The Times and Jacobs Media were co-sponsors. Read article in Gainesville Times:

Godfrey, Reed, Dunahoo and Sykes each suggested a Georgia-based guest worker program to bring in migrant employees to work in Georgia's agricultural sector. Banks said he was not for such a program. . . "
If you want to give our jobs to non-citizen guest workers, then Dunahoo is your candidate. If you want jobs to go to legal citizens of South Hall, then Bobby Banks is your candidate.

Why I am supporting Bobby Banks for HD 25 in the December 6 runoff
I have known Bobby and Connie Banks for many years and know that both are true conservatives with strong Christian family values. In fact, Bobby was my county commissioner for four years. One four-year term does not make him a career politician in my eyes ;- ) In that capacity he was always very accessible when I had questions or problems.
Bobby has lived in Hall County for more than 35 years and has raised a family and built his life here. Bobby and Connie have three sons and three grandchildren and are active members of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Bobby has been a strong conservative Republican for many years. Read more on his Facebook page.Having a representative at the Gold Dome who will communicate with his constituents on a regular basis is most important to me. Bobby has assured me that he will use our new communication tool - E-newsletters - to keep us updated on business at the Dome. My former GA Representative has never done this. We only received a campaign mailer every two years near election time and perhaps one town hall meeting.
Bobby's stance on NOT hiring non-citizen guest workers in Georgia is a primary reason I am supporting him for this seat. With unemployment at 10% in our area, jobs should go to hard working residents of South Hall -- not non-citizens.
Mr. Dunahoo does not appear to have any experience in conservative Republican activities and has never served in any elected office. His website highlights his activities as an avid sportsman who loves to hunt and fish all over the country.
For the above reasons I shall be voting for Bobby Banks again on December 6, 2011 and hope you will, also.
Special note concerning the testy Hall GOP Forum on December 3, 2011:
If you read the front page of the Gainesville Times on December 3, you will note that the forum sponsored by the Hall GOP did not go as planned. The first audience member to ask a question at Saturday's forum -- following a number of questions a moderator posed to both candidates -- was a personal attack on candidate Banks. Prior to the forum Bobby Banks was assured by the Hall GOP that personal attack questions from the audience would not be allowed. Since the personal attacks were not ruled out of order by the people running the forum, Bobby Banks decided to exit the hall in order to avoid more bedlam. I would probably have done the same thing. This problem did not exist in the well run forum on November 1.
