BOONE, Iowa
-- Texas
Gov. Rick
Perry can
still fill a
room with
his Texas
swagger and
frontier
good looks.
But Perry
may have
exerted his
greatest
influence on
the 2012 GOP
race through
a vacuum he
has created
-- a dynamic
that is
powerfully
shaping the
Iowa
caucuses now
hurtling
toward

▪ Herman
Cain won’t

2:15 pm
December
29, 2011,
by

-- AJC
If you
remember
your ancient
Republican
history –
about four
weeks ago –
you’ll
remember
that Herman
Cain, as he
bowed out of
the race,
strongly
hinted that
he would
make an
endorsement
in the
presidential
contest. But
we haven’t
heard much
from Cain
since, and
the plains
of Iowa
loom.
Several
times during
Cain’s final
rough patch,
Newt
Gingrich
spoke up for
his Atlanta
comrade-in-arms.
Each cited a
friendship
that
stretched
back
decades.
They even
staged that
love fest in
Houston for
Texan tea
partyists.
But also
remember
that Cain
endorsed
former
Massachusetts
governor
Mitt Romney
in the 2008
campaign.
By way of
straightening
things out,
my AJC
colleague
Jeremy
Redmon shot
an e-mail to
Mark Block,
who remains
Cain’s chief
of staff.
Here is the
response:
There are no
plans
currently to
endorse any
of the
candidates.

What has President Obama done? Visit: http://www.mcnaughtonart.com
Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, "What have you done?" Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. In front of the man, paper trash is blowing in the wind. Crumpled dollar bills, legislative documents, and, like a whisper—the U.S. Constitution beneath the foot of Barack Obama.

For your
information,
the
Justice
Department
has
approved
Georgia's
congressional
maps.
This
means
that the
maps as
drawn
have
become
the
permanent
maps for
Georgia
until
the next
U.S.
Census
in
2020.
Again,
you may
recall
that at
the last
census
(2000),
the
Democrat
drawn
maps
were
rejected
by the
courts,
and
remained
in
litigation
for five
full
years
until
the
courts
redrew
them in
2005.
From the
perspective
that
Republicans
were in
charge
of the
process
of drawing
U.S.

Districts
for the
first
time in
Georgia,
and that
the maps
were

this is
a major

Merry Christmas
from Martha!
Friends,
In just a few short days, we will join with friends and family to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and express our thankfulness for what matters most - our faith, family, friends, and freedom.
Despite economic turmoil, joblessness, and uncertainty, we still live in the greatness country the world has ever known. And because of our unparalleled freedom, we can join during the holiday season to worship, without fear or reservation, the Son of God who was sent to Earth to save us from ourselves.
I hope you will join me this week in praying for our country's future. We are at a crossroads in our nation's history and need to work together to ensure prosperity for generations to come.
Please pray for our brave men and women in uniform who are working to protect us at home and abroad. Their service to this country is often forgotten and we must always remember to say "thank you" to our American heroes.
And finally, thank you for your support of my campaign for Congress. Election Day is still many months away, but I am certain that with your help, we can take Washington back and put this country on the right track!
From my family to yours -
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Martha Zoller
Candidate for Congress

The Republican National Committee has more money in the bank than debt to creditors for the first time in more than a year.
The committee raised $7.2 million in November, leaving it with $14.1 million in the bank and $13.4 million in debt, according to a disclosure report filed Tuesday evening.
The RNC outpaced the Democratic National Committee, which raised $6.7 million last month. That’s all the more noteworthy since the DNC benefited from $2.8 million raised by President Obama. The DNC had $10.5 million in the bank and $7.8 million in debt.
“Heading into 2012, the RNC will be operating from a position of significant fiscal strength,” chairman Reince Priebus said in a written statement. “The combination of Republican voters’ enthusiasm and the RNC’s robust fundraising makes me confident that we have a winning year ahead of us.”
The committee had struggled financially under the stewardship of former chairman Michael Steele. Major donors abandoned the party after a series of revelations about lavish expenses, and the committee was saddled with more than $20 million in debt.
The last time it reported more cash than debt was August 2010.

Obama To Clinton: "You're A Racist." Clinton Calls Obama: "The Worst President Ever."
Only one week after reporting that Michelle Obama may be having a "steamy secret affair" with a Secret Service agent, The Globe has just unleashed another bombshell that may very well sink the foundering Obama Regime. According to the Globe, long-standing tensions between Barack Obama and Bill Clinton reached the boiling point during a recent golf outing at Andrews Air Force Base.
According to multiple unnamed sources, Clinton has been confiding to close pals that Obama is "the worst President ever" and his presidency is a "sinking ship" that is "taking the Democratic party and the country down with him," and when Obama confronted him on the comments, Clinton looked him in the eye and said; "Yes, it's a fact." The Globe reports: "At that point, the source adds, Obama went ballistic and told the ex-Prez; 'Then you are a racist and no different than the rest of them.'" Read more

Take a moment and watch our Christmas video message, from myself, my family, supporters, and friends across this great nation of ours. As we experience the joys of Christmas this year, let us not forget the birth of Christ and what it means to mankind. I urge you to seek out and offer help and kindness to family, friends and those around us who are less fortunate, perhaps hungry and struggling through these harsh economic times. And a special prayer goes out to our brave soldiers, some far away from home this holiday season, and our hopes they return safely to their families. It is their sacrifice which has ensured all Americans the gift of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; and we could not be more in debt, nor appreciative of their service. This is our family's favorite time of year and we wish you and your loved ones all the best in this lovely, forgiving and peaceful season. Have a great holiday and fantastic New Year.
Sincerely,
Herman Cain

Herman Cain
says he'd

By Michael A. Memoli -

Herman Cain is no longer running for president. He doesn't think he's likely to be picked as the eventual nominee's running mate, either. But he does have a Cabinet post in mind should the GOP win the White House next fall: secretary of Defense.
Cain shared the idea with ABC's Barbara Walters during her annual special on the "10 Most Fascinating People." And the veteran journalist was just a bit surprised. (see video and read more)

Trailing in

presidential

sought to
distance
himself from
former House

telling an

“Zany is not

His remarks
to The New

Romney’s

“Zany is

It’s great

Romney says.
“But in

▪ Kevin R. Powell Announces Challenge to Placement of Obama on
Georgia Ballot - Monday, December 12, 2011DULUTH – Mr. Kevin R. Powell of Duluth, Georgia announced today that he has filed with the Office of Secretary of State Brian Kemp a challenge to the placement of the name of Barack Obama on the Georgia ballot for the Presidency of the United States of America. Submitted to Secretary Kemp’s office as of November 28, 2011, Powell’s challenge has now been referred to the Georgia Office of State Administrative Hearings for further proceedings. The case is styled Kevin Richard Powell v. Barack Obama, and the Office of State Administrative Hearings’ Docket Number is OSAH-SECSTATE-CE-1216823-60-MALIHI.
Powell’s challenge to Obama’s placement on the Georgia ballot is based upon the contention that Obama does not satisfy the "natural born Citizen" requirement of Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution. Obama’s father, Barack Obama, Sr., was a native of Kenya and a British subject who never became a United States citizen.
Powell will be represented before the Office of State Administrative Hearings by attorney J. Mark Hatfield of the law firm Hatfield & Hatfield, P.C. in Waycross, Georgia.

On Saturday, 3,500 mourners attended a memorial on the 50-yard line of Sanford Stadium for the beloved broadcaster, who was 89 when he died Nov. 20 of complications from pneumonia. Munson was the voice of the Georgia Bulldogs for 42 years and wanted the service held in the stadium, his son Michael Munson said.
Friends and family members shared memories of Munson, who in addition to loving the Bulldogs also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to movies. He always gave people nicknames, said his son Jonathan, who pressed his lips together tightly and fought back tears recalling that for some reason, Dad always called him "Josh." Read more

Associated Press
NEW YORK — From late-night comedy shows to cable news interviews, free media exposure has proved influential in defining the Republican presidential candidates and setting the dynamics of the primary race, especially for lower-tier hopefuls lacking cash for TV ads.
The turn toward free media, and Twitter, too, may have come at the expense of traditional campaigning. It also raises the chances that a moment of fuzzy thinking or a verbal gaffe will haunt a candidate endlessly in the YouTube world.

What a shame to spend so much tax payer money on two voting days for this race where so few people turned out to vote. Why the governor's special appointment for Rep. James Millis could not have been made next year and this seat filled in a regular election year is beyond comprehension.
BTW, just opened my mail and found a campaign fundraiser letter from the Governor for the year 2014?? I shall be glad to donate a small amount to the GA GOP, RNC, and two candidates in the year 2012, but NOT Governor Deal. We just elected him last year !! Is it possible to ask for a refund of my contributions from his 2010 campaign ;- ) ? I very foolishly donated more money to Deal's campaign than any other candidate EVER which was a huge mistake. If I had known then what I know now, that would not have happened. I could really use that money right now since my husband is very ill with cancer. His several doctors, meds and tests are very expensive and will only get worse. Bettye Chambers

In the 15th Century, “Lady Justice” was introduced wearing a blindfold. Her sightlessness was meant to represent objectivity, in that justice is or should be meted out without fear or favor, regardless of identity, money, power or weakness. Blind justice and impartiality should be the goal. Enter 21st century politics, where you find justice thrown under the proverbial bus, along with a presidential candidate.Herman Cain joined the race for the Republican nomination with a goal of leading the nation into a better quality of life, for, in his words, “my grandchildren and for the generations to come.” Read more.

Your Story
With Me!
a message
from Herman
CAIN -
December 2,
2011 |
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I recently wrote asking for your prayers and support regarding my campaign for the Presidency.
I have been touched by the outpouring of encouragement that you, my friends and most loyal supporters, have provided to me, my family, and my campaign staff. Over the last couple of days we have received numerous emails, text messages, and phone calls urging me to press onward and stay in the race.
Every word of support is sincerely appreciated.
As the media has reported, my team and I are assessing my campaign and my candidacy. We have had similar meetings multiple times during my campaign journey. As any good businessman, I want to analyze and understand my strengths and weaknesses, upcoming opportunities, and current threats.
One of the greatest strengths of my campaign has always been my loyal supporters. From the beginning of my campaign (when I had nearly no name ID), my supporters have been committed and enthusiastic about a Cain presidency. They believe in my ideas to put America back to work, my bold “9-9-9 Plan” for economic recovery, my vision for energy independence, and my “Cain Doctrine” for foreign policy, which focuses on Peace through Strength and Clarity.
As I assess the future of my campaign, I need to gauge the support of the people of this great nation.
I am inviting you to share your voice with me, my family and staff, and the nation. In short, I need to know that you are behind me 100%. In today’s political environment, the only way we can gauge true support is by the willingness of our supporters to invest in this effort.
Will you invest by sharing your personal story with me? I need to hear why you chose to become a Cain supporter and how you feel I can help this nation by serving as President. Please send a short video or email to: supportherman@hermancain.com to tell me your story.
There are three audiences in a political campaign: The media, the political establishment, and the people. The first two never gave our campaign much credence, but the people of this great nation showed their eagerness for a non-establishment candidate with common sense solutions and the courage to lead. I chose to listen to the people, which is what I will do if I am elected your President.
Please share your story with me. And please consider making a generous donation to my campaign. I need to know if you are still beside me in this battle. Please let me hear from you today. Thank you.
Sincerely,Herman Cain

MARTHA KICKS OFF CAMPAIGN WITH
PRO-TROOP + MAFPAC SUPPORT!
 |
This weekend, our longtime friend Martha Zoller officially kicked off her campaign for congress in her own hometown of Gainesville, GA. We welcome her decision to run for office, something people have been asking her to do for years and, because we know she supports the troops, we pledge our support to her candidacy.
Martha's kickoff event was well attended by veterans, military families, tea partiers and radio listeners, as she is a household name in the community.
"Every morning for the past 15 years, folks have turned on their radio and heard Martha's conservative message. People already know what she stands for." said her campaign manager Ryan Mahoney at the rally in downtown Gainesville.
At MAF we look for candidates who support the troops, that's our most important issue, and we know that Martha is a huge supporter of our military and their missions to keep America safe and free. She's so committed that she's traveled to Iraq TWICE to help the troops and Gold Star families that she cares for so much! |

Presidential
Preference
Primary
for
Georgia
set
for
Tuesday,
March
6,
2012 |
Secretary of State Brian Kemp has announced that Georgia’s 2012 presidential preference primary will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Secretary Kemp was given the authority to set the presidential primary date via a modification to Georgia’s statutory code during the 2011 legislative session. Substantial rules changes by the RNC leading up to the 2012 Republican National Convention resulted in states that are “winner-take-all” states like Georgia not having the ability to hold their primaries without losing ½ of their potential delegates if the primary was held before April 1, 2012.
Behind the scenes, much planning and labor was completed by the Georgia Republican Party to facilitate this decision. Secretary Kemp worked closely with party leaders prior to his formal announcement. The GAGOP Rules Committee and State Committee convened to approve a rule change that allowed the Secretary Kemp the flexibility necessary to ensure that Georgia voters would remain a strong voice in the 2012 primary process as we select our next President.
Prior to the rules change, Georgia was a winner-take-all system and would have lost ½ of its delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa if the primary was held before April 1, 2012. The proposed change to the GAGOP allows Georgia’s delegates to be allotted on a proportional basis if the Georgia primary was held before April 1, 2012.
The GAGOP commends Secretary of State Brian Kemp for his efforts and diligence in the selection of March 6, 2012 as the presidential preference primary date in Georgia.
